With the iPhone and an army of Android smartphones dominating the top selling devices list in the US at the moment, CNET has prepared a short video detailing how both devices (well, one device and the other an OS) stand up against each other. Titled “Top 5 Reasons Android is Better Than iPhone”, it’s sure to attract a lot of controversy.

While we do agree with all 5 reasons, they can no doubt be turned on their heads as reasons for ‘not’ getting an Android phone as well. Scroll to the bottom to check out the video or read the key points from the video highlighted below (and our comments) in case you can’t view Flash on your mobile device.
Its open source: Multiple app stores, no developer restrictions on apps (however you should be careful as to what you download and from which source).
Real multitasking: There is no control as to which apps can and cannot multitask (however there are chances of conflict between apps as the video points out).
Runs Flash: As more platforms begin to adopt Flash (BlackBerry OS, QNX, webOS), iOS still remains as the one platform that can’t play Flash videos, websites and games.
Choice of handsets: Who doesn’t love choice. While Android is a great platform, some users may prefer to pay for a device with a better camera, QWERTY keypad or larger screen. Or they just may want an entry-level phone with the ability to make calls and surf the Web.
Choice of carrier: Although a Verizon iPhone will be joining us in February, Apple has a long way to go as Android devices are available on all 4 major carriers and even regional ones at the moment.
So do you think it’s unfair to compare a single iPhone to Android’s ecosystem of Android devices?
