In order to make room for the next generation of iPhones, many big box retailers are giving huge discounts on older model iPhones like the iPhone 3GS. Best Buy, on the leaders in the market, have discounted their iPhone 8GB 3GS to $49.99 with a new two-year agreement with AT&T.
Best Buy’s not the only retailer marketing down the iPhone 3GS, Radio Shack, Amazon and Walmart are shredding prices on iPhones. The newest model, the iPhone 4, was also discounted to $149 with a two-year commitment also but most of those sales have ended.
As we all now, the iPhone isn’t the only mobile Apple device on the market. To make room for the iPad 2, many overseas retailers are selling their iPads for $199 or lower. Rumors suggest that the iPad 2 will be announced by Steve Jobs in March.
