Apple enthusiasts appeared to have given up hope of getting their hands on a white version of the popular smartphone, with the firm reported to be struggling with manufacturing issues that left the two parts of the device in different shades of white.
However, according to FoneHome.co.uk, models of the white iPhone 4 have appeared in the online inventory of Vodafone Germany, available in both 16GB and 32GB, just as the black handset is.
Apple confirmed late last year that the white iPhone 4 is set to be released in the spring, so this prediction appears to be on course.
Then again it was also supposed to be released at the same time the black iPhone 4 hit the shelves back in June 2010, before suffering repeated delays.
Even if the white iPhone 4 does launch in a few months time, with a new iPhone 5 expected to be launched around June it’s not entirely clear why anyone who’d been waiting for almost a year for the white version wouldn’t be content to wait another few months for the next model.
One Apple release that will definitely take place in the coming weeks is the release of the iPhone 4 on the Verizon network in the US.
Apple fanatics in the US have been eagerly waiting for AT&T to lose exclusivity for the smartphone, with many criticising the service received.
Verizon Wireless’s CDMA version of the iPhone 4 will receive its official launch in February.
