U.S. technology giant Apple is developing a poor man’s iPhone, dubbed the iPhone Nano, clandestine sources have told the media.

Sources said Apple is working in secret on the phone, which may be released mid-summer alongside the iPhone 5, The Daily Telegraph reported.
The cheaper phone would use iPhone 4 components and is expected to be two-thirds the size of a regular iPhone.
The price is expected to be around $200 without a carrier discount.
It could be sold, then, without a two-year contract for services. Apple is said to be working on a “universal SIM” system, which would make the phone compatible with a variety of carriers.
