Google’s Social Searches, Review of ‘Into Now’ iPhone App

Google Is Making Searches a Bit More Personal

Google is making its searches a bit more personal. Search results on the site will now incorporate links to things your friends have posted on sites like Twitter, YouTube and Flickr.

The results from your friends will appear with a picture of them and a note. These social searches will only work if you’re logged in to your Google account.

“Into Now” App

In the beginning there was “Shazam,” a popular iPhone music app that could name that tune just by holding your phone up to a speaker. Now, a new app called “Into Now” is promising similar results for television shows. But that’s just a small part of what the app does.

“The real mission here if you will, is social,” said USA Today’s Ed Baig. “The idea that you can connect with people, make new friends over the shows that both of you enjoy. So you can see what other people are watching and they can see what you’re watching.”
