AT&T, the carrier iPhone users love to hate, is in trouble again. According to a federal class action lawsuit, AT&T has been overstating the data transactions of iPhone and iPad users, leading to much higher bills.
According to the lawsuit, even after turning off push and other background services, 50 KB transfers would show up as 53.5 KB, a 7% increase, which supposedly has a “moderate effect” on the final bill. In addition, leaving the phone idle for 10 days would result in a 2,292KB transactions.
Along with the alleged “phantom data” showing up on Windows Phone 7 bills, simple phone transactions are becoming an issue. What do you think? Should AT&T be held responsible for this? Does this lawsuit make any sense at all? Let us know.
