NYC Condom Finder iPhone app, helps you play safe for free

New York City has introduced the free NYC Condom Finder app for the iPhone, to help you play safe in the Big Apple. Part of National Condom Awareness Day
(aka Valentine’s Day), the simple GPS-equipped app detects your current
location and lists the five closest NYC places that give out free
condoms.

There are over 3,000 locations covering the five city boroughs, which distribute free condoms to the needy as part of the NYC Condom Program
that was launched in 2007. Generally that means you’re never going to
be far from one whilst out and about in the city. The app also provides
you with information about the NYC Condom Program, as well as ‘helpful
dos and don’ts for condom usage.’

While it’s easy to point and laugh at an app for finding condoms; safe
sex is a critical issue across the world, let alone in New York. If an
app helps people stay safe, then hats off to them.
