One limitation of the Verizon iPhone that’s been highlighted in a few reviews is that it is not a world traveler: It will not work in as many international locations as its AT&T counterpart.
But a teardown from repair company iFixYouri and blog 9to5Mac shows that the Verizon iPhone does, in fact, have a dual GSM/CDMA chip that would let it work with the jet set if only it had space for a SIM card.
9to5 Mac said this “all but guarantees that the iPhone 5 will be dual-mode, perhaps one phone that can be used on both Verizon and AT&T,” and overseas.
