US mobile phone carrier AT&T has confirmed that it would support Apple’s recently announced iOS 4.3’s Personal Hotspot feature to allow iPhone 4 users to create personal Wi-Fi hotspots.

The Personal Hotspot feature will be available from March 11, when Apple will release the iOS 4.3 update.
Along with the iPhone 4’s data plan, the new feature will cost $45 a month. The AT&T iPhone 4 users will be provided with a maximum of a 4GB of data.
Announcing the new service, a spokesperson for AT&T said, “To utilize this feature, customers will need to subscribe to the DataPro 4GB/$45 tethering data plan.”
Usage of data above the limit will cost additional $10 per GB.
The service will be greatly beneficial at places where public Wi-Fi facility is absent. After using the service one can get it deactivated without any penalty.
Rival carrier Verizon is already allowing its iPhone 4 customers to use their smartphones to create personal Wi-Fi hotspots.
