Twitter has updated their iOS app with a pretty interesting update. Apart from adding stability, it also added a couple of surprise features to the iPad version.

A re-designed compose screen, cleaner UI, and a “quick bar” for trending topics. What?
The first thing is the tweet compose screen. It’s got a cleaner UI for adding media, and makes multiple picture uploading much more easier than before. There’s also auto-completition for usernames now, which is very useful. All this sounds great, but there’s a bit of a controversy with the “Quick Bar”.
Trends appear on the top of the timeline in this bar, and show trends on your specific location. However, it focuses on the promoted topics on Twitter, and sometimes follows you down into the timeline from the top. The Quick Bar is not in the iPad version though.

For those who don’t like the bar, you can either change Twitter client (like I did), or if you’re jailbroken, you can actually install a mod called “Twizzler” for FREE from Cydia, and it’ll remove the QuickBar. Gotta love the jailbreak community.
