JBL On Air Wireless dock with AirPlay now shipping

JBL introduced the the On Air Wireless speaker dock for the iPhone and iPod touch. Now the AirPlay-enabled docking station is ready to ship.

This speaker dock isn’t exactly cheap with at $349.95 price tag. But considering how limited the offerings for AirPlay connectivity are, JBL might be able to get away with it.

There are some other benefits found on the On Air Wireless dock. The “Wireless” part of the name refers both to the AirPlay function and support for Wi-Fi (and Ethernet) connections. That can be configured on the iPod nano-sized color LCD panel as can the digital FM radio with its 10 ready presets. Audio-wise, the system sports three transducers with 360-degree HALO acoustics and DSP technology.

Before you buy, make sure you have iTunes 10.1 or later (for AirPlay support) and an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with iOS 4.2 or later.
