There was a time when every kid knew about Atari. Now, the once giant video game producer is to be seen nowhere near developers like EA, UbiSoft, Epic, Gameloft, etc. Kids of today would probably have a hard time realizing how their predecessors lived their lives without HD, let alone playing 8 or 16 bit video games with fixed sound tracks.

Kids that played Atari games are now grown-ups. So when Atari said they would be releasing a pack of 100 retro games for iOS devices like iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, everybody got excited once again.
Atari’s Greatest Hits app is free to download and it allows you to play “Pong” and buy the other 99 from within the app itself. 18 of the games are arcade while rest are from the famous Atari 2600 machine.
Games like Asteroids, Battlezone and Centepede are sure to attract a lot of people. The complete pack of 100 is available at $14.99. But if you don’t want to do that, the games are also available in packs of four, 25 of them.
The price of each pack of 4 games is a mere $0.99. You can play head to head with other players via Bluetooth. Each game comes with original cover art and cabinet. iPad users will not have to worry about scaling since it comes optimized for the platform.
