Virtual Villagers 4 launched on iPhone (in debug mode)

The fourth entry in the popular simulation series Virtual Villagers has been released for the iPhone.

Continuing on from the previous entry in the series, you watch over a group of island inhabitants as they set out to discover the mysteries of the isle of Isola.

Perhaps developer The Last Day of Work should have employed somebody to watch over the launch, though, since the initial release of Virtual Villagers 4 is in debug mode.

The Last Day of Work has already submitted an update to Apple, so you can expect a non-debug version soon.

Additions for this fourth entry include an updated user interface, new puzzles, and a villager selection screen where you can customise the tribe you start off with.

Virtual Villagers 3: The Secret City on the iPhone was criticised for offering little that was ‘fresh or progressive’ on this very site, so hopefully these new features can revitalise the series somewhat.

Virtual Villagers 4: The Tree of Life on the iPhone is available to download now for £1.19 / $1.99 / €1.59.
