Material And Labor Shortages To Affect iPhone 4 Shipments In Q2?

Asia’s recent catastrophes haven’t yet affected many of the US based gadget companies, but it’s clear that the industry will be impacted at some point. So far, Apple’s release of the iPad 2 has met many obstacles in being able to deliver as many iPads as people want, and it seems that these same challenges could affect the iPhone 4 in the second quarter of this year.

According to Taiwanese trade publication DigiTimes, recent shortages in labor and material on some of Foxconn’s plants could soon become an issue due to the growing demand for Apple products like the iPhone 4 and the iPad 2. Both Apple and Foxconn have denied commenting on this, but it’s most likely true that the iPad 2’s low availability in stores has to ring a bell in the growing iPhone world. Rumors have Apple securing supplies by using their extensive amounts of cash, but the sluggishness of any partner in labor could Jeopardize Apple’s whole contingency plan.

With competitors like Motorola, Acer and HTC having problems, it’s only a matter of time before these things grow into a problem for Apple. Just don’t let the whole White iPhone 4 delay be enough of a reason to not trust in things going right huh..
