A new version of the Opera Mini web browser, the most popular mobile browser in the world, has just been released, and the latest version comes with a slew of new features designed to make users’ mobile web experience faster and more robust.

Opera Mini 6, available for the iPhone 4, iPad, and iPad 2, offers better tabbed browsing, a customizable homepage, and social sharing features that enable users to post content directly to Facebook, Twitter, and My Opera.

ReadWriteWeb writes of the upgrade, “With Opera Mini 6, iPad users have what feels like a ‘real’ Web browser on their tablet computers, thanks to features like the customizable start page which you fill with your own favorite websites, for example. It also introduces improved tabbed browsing without Safari’s 8-page (iPhone) or 9-page (iPad) limit.”

Is this the back of the white iPhone 5?

Hot on the heels of reports that Apple’s next-gen iPhone will sport a separate module for the camera flash comes this photo from Apple.pro (via weibus.com) purporting to show the back of a white iPhone 5 with the camera component on the left and the flash on the opposite end of the device.

Hot on the heels of reports that Apple’s next-gen iPhone will sport a separate module for the camera flash comes this photo from Apple.pro (via weibus.com) purporting to show the back of a white iPhone 5 with the camera component on the left and the flash on the opposite end of the device.

While photos like these can admittedly be easily photoshopped, it’s become increasingly common to see component parts from upcoming Apple products leak out in the months before a release. To wit, three Foxconn employees were recently arrested for allegedly leaking iPad 2 designs to case manufacturers in exchange for money.

News that the next iteration of the iPhone would carry two distinct
holes for the camera and the flash module first surfaced last week when
an iPhone case with two holes appeared online. This was soon followed
by photos purporting to show the rear camera module of the iPhone 5.
Below, note how on the iPhone 4 the flash component is attached to the
rear camera while the purported rear camera on the iPhone 5 comes sans a
flash component.

As for a functional purpose behind separating the flash from the
camera lens, photo enthusiasts have chimed in that doing so will help
reduce red-eye in photos and will also result in sharper photographs
during less than ideal shooting conditions.

This Summer will be the first Summer since 2007 without a new iPhone
model out on the market. Instead, Apple will likely release its next-gen
iPhone later this Fall, with a late September release date being the
most likely. Lastly, and while we’re on the topic of cameras and what
not, it’s largely believed the iPhone 5 will come with an 8 megapixel
lens.
