The app was developed by Outdoor Channel’s Winnercomm division, in partnership with PointAbout. It was created using the latter’s AppMakr app-building platform, which powers apps for such companies as The Disney Store, Newsweek, and Huffington Post. “As a digital leader in the outdoor space, the debut of the Outdoor Channel App creates a rich, multiscreen experience for our valued audience,” Todd Merkow, Outdoor Channel’s president of digital media, said in a prepared statement. “With OutdoorChannel.com attracting over a million unique visitors a month, the newly launched app will offer our loyal fan base more digital options to engage with their favorite shows and talent than ever before. We’re especially proud to be among the first apps to let users stream video to their TV’s via Airplay-enabled devices and plan on adding other functions and features in the near future.”
