Bejeweled 2 + Blitz for iPhone goes free

Classic match-‘em-up Bejeweled 2 + Blitz is now free on iPhone, meaning puzzle aficionados get to sample one of the most alluring puzzlers that iOS has to offer for sweet nowt.

If you’ve never played a Bejeweled game, it boasts a simple-to-learn puzzle game system that involves matching up colourful gemstones on a 2D grid.

The Blitz addition - which started life on Facebook - is a ruinously addictive mode in which you have to score as many points as you can in a minute, before comparing the results with your friends.

We gave Bejeweled 2 a Silver Award, calling it “as vital as Tetris and as addictive as chocolate.”

And now it’s as free as air.
