iPhone 3GS price goes up to 99 cents with new contract at AT&T

AT&T raises prices on the iPhone 3GS to 99 cents after the device was offered for free with contract during October as the iPhone 4S started arriving in stores.

What a bunch of tyrants they are over at AT&T. The company so kindly knocked the price of an iPhone 3GS down to nothing last month — with a new contract, of course — as the iPhone 4S hit stores. It turns out, that was just a temporary price drop on the years-old phone. AT&T has now gone and raised 3GS prices again… to 99 cents (with contract).

Survey: Apple products top holiday wish lists

With the Black Friday kickoff of the holiday shopping season just a week away, consumers are hoping to see an electronic device created by Apple sitting under the tree this year.

Based off a survey of 3,000 Sodahead readers, the Apple iPad 2 and the iPhone 4S are the gifts that consumers are most interested in this holiday season. When it comes to electronics specifically, 39 percent of respondents want the iPhone 4S while 31 percent prefer the iPad 2. In addition, 17 percent want the Kindle Fire from Amazon and 13 percent would love to receive Microsoft’s Kinect accessory for the Xbox 360. When it comes to tablets, the iPad had the majority of support with 65 percent. Twenty-four percent of people want the Kindle Fire and only 11 percent are interested in getting the Nook this year. This data somewhat corresponds with a recent Pricegrabber survey that found 83 percent of people wanted an iPad as a holiday gift.
