Following the countless leaks showing images of iPhone 6 dummy units, 9to5Mac has obtained two such mockups with the help of Sonny Dickson, a source of accurate Apple leaks in the past, and compared them on video to two of the best Android smartphones currently available in stores, the HTC One (M8) and the Galaxy S5.
Just like other dummy iPhone 6 units that were recently photographed in China, the mockups 9to5Mac got feature bigger displays and a thinner profile than the iPhone 5s. These non-functional iPhone 6 units resemble the iPod touch’s design more so than the iPhone 5s, including rounded corners and rounded edges, and separate volume buttons.
The iPhone 6′s design appears to be somewhat similar to the HTC One (M8), especially when it comes to antenna placement on the back, although the dummy units seem to be thinner than HTC’s flagship phone.
Overall, the size of the iPhone 6 appears to almost match the size of the Galaxy S5 and the HTC One (M8), although the Android flagships both have bigger displays than the 4.7-inch display the iPhone 6 is expected to get, and thus, they’re both slightly bigger.
The increased size of the iPhone 6 would also explain why the dummy units have power buttons on the right side, rather than on top, as such button placement would make one-handed operation much easier.
9to5Mac’s detailed iPhone 6 video follows below.
