Apple reveals the “unbelievably gorgeous” iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 – find out what new functions and features are in store
Apple has launched the “world’s thinnest tablet”: the iPad Air 2.
Unveiled on Thursday at Apple’s Town Hall Auditorium in California along with the iPad Mini 3, chief executive Tim Cook said the 6.1mm thick iPad Air 2 is “unbelievably gorgeous”.
The iPad Air 2 is the sixth iPad to be launched since its introduction in 2010 and boasts a specially-created A8X chip to deliver a 40 per cent faster performance, among other features.
Pre-orders for the two new tablets will begin on October 17 and will ship by the end of next week.
