The iPhone 6s release date prep is in full swing at major carriers in the U.S. just a few days before the Apple event where we expect to see the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus and other Apple devices.
It’s no shock that carriers are getting ready as iPhone 6s pre-orders may arrive as soon as Friday September 11th. We are seeing the early signs of this at carriers, on eBay and at device trade-in locations.
The Fall 2015 Apple event takes place tomorrow September 9th and according to rumors will include details about the iPhone 6s, Apple TV 4, new iPads and iOS 9.
All signs point to the iPhone 6s release date on September 18th and there is a very high likelihood that you can start the purchase process this week with iPhone 6s pre-orders online.
Here is a quick look at some of the preparations at carriers for the iPhone 6s release date and pre-orders.
T-Mobile is once again running the Best Trade-in Value Guaranteed offer that it kicked off last year. This is not a new promotion for the iPhone 6s, but it is one that potential T-Mobile switchers need to look into and that upgraders should be aware of.
T-Mobile promises the best trade-in value of any major carriers, which means you can trade your old iPhone in and if you find a higher trade value for that model within seven days T-Mobile will refund you the difference on a bill credit.
You can check the T-Mobile iPhone trade-in values online to get an estimate. There is also an option to switch to T-Mobile and have the company pay off your contract at a competing carrier.
Verizon iPhone 6s release date prep is minimal so far with only a landing page asking users to sign up to, “Be the first to hear about the latest device launches.”
If you are switching to Verizon you can get a $200 trade-in offer and a $100 bill credit, which is a good option to consider if you are leaving your current carrier for Verizon.

One user on Twitter reports that a Verizon employee told them the iPhone 6s arrives Friday, which likely refers to the pre-orders.
AT&T is not showing any major changes on the home page, but the company is offering a combined $300 in credits to users who switch from a competing carrier. When you trade in an eligible smartphone you can get a $200 trade-in credit and a $100 bill credit.
Sprint is coy about the start of iPhone 6s pre-orders and the iPhone 6s release date, but it is at least answering some questions. A verified Sprint account on Twitter told one user to check a Sprint release about the price to get the 128GB iPhone 6s Plus on the Sprint iPhone for Life Plan.
This is not a confirmation of the new phone, but it is a good sign that Sprint is ready to talk, even if they are directing other users to the home page. This is also an indication that the iPhone 6s price and iPhone 6s price are set to stay the same as the current models.
Gazelle promises the best trade-in price for your iPhone in cash and we are seeing eBay simplify the selling process for listing your old iPhone or smartphone on eBay, complete with estimated price. Some users can get an eBay match of up to $100 with an invite to the special program.
The iPhone 6s release date is September 18th according to rumors and Apple’s traditional timeline after the new iPhone announcement.
On September 9th Apple will host an event where the company shows off new iPhones and other gadgets. This date is confirmed by Apple, although the company does not mention any specific devices.
On September 11th we expect Apple will start taking iPhone 6s pre-orders, which will very likely start at 12:01 AM Pacific, or 3:01AM Eastern. These are online, but we could see in store pickup options.
The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus release dates should land on the same day, and new iPhone 6s color options should appear on all carriers at the same time as well.
Expect retailers like Best Buy and the Apple Store to open early on the iPhone 6s release date and carrier stores like AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile to open early as well.
