Cellebrite, the company widely believed to have accessed the San Bernardino iPhone for the FBI, is reportedly ‘optimistic’ that it will also be able to access a locked iPhone 6.
CNN reports that Italian architect Leonardo Fabbretti met with the company last week to see whether it could help gain access to his dead son’s iPhone. Before his death from bone cancer, 13-year-old Dama Fabbretti had added his father’s thumbprint to allow him access – but the phone required the passcode after a restart, and his father doesn’t know the code.
Apple’s upcoming iPhone 7 is one of the most anticipated smartphones of the year. While the iPhone SE has received some criticism due to the lack of real innovation, the iPhone 7 is expected to bring exciting new features. Last year’s iPhone 6S and 6S Plus were slightly thicker than their predecessors, apparently due to 3D Touch display technology. But the upcoming iPhone is rumored to be ultra-thin.
Early signs bode well for the iDevice maker’s newest iPhone.
Though declared a “flop” by some, it would appear that Apple‘s newest member of the iPhone family, which essentially jams an iPhone 6/6s hybrid into the body of an iPhone 5s, is doing fairly well in the marketplace.
Analyst Amit Daryanani with RBC Capital observes that the iPhone SE “currently has 1-3 weeks lead time in Apple online store.” In the United States, the analyst notes, the lead times appear to be in the range of 2-3 weeks, while in China — a region that Daryanani thinks Apple prioritized initial iPhone SE stock in — the lead times are two weeks.
