Building on its recent “case+” system of modular iPhone accessories, Logitech on Wednesday announced the “protection+” slim fit case and two accompanying car mounts, one of which was part of the original $200 set.
Looking first at the new protection+ case for iPhone 5 and 5s, Logitech’s offering sports a familiar “slim,” open-face format in line with competing iPhone cases, including Apple’s own first-party products. What sets the protection+ — and its “+” product stablemates — apart is a modular design that uses magnets for quick mounting and accessory swap-outs.
Apple may be getting ready to launch the new iPhone 6 next quarter, but that doesn’t mean the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c aren’t hot propositions anymore, especially since retailers are apparently now ready to sell at deep discounts. Starting Friday, Walmart will permanently discount both 2013 Apple iPhones, as long as they’re purchased with a new two-year agreement.
The iPhone 5s will cost $99, a $50 discount compared to Walmart’s previous price, while the iPhone 5c will sell for $29 on contract, or $20 less than before. These prices are valid for the 16GB versions of the phones, although 32GB and 64GB version should also be cheaper.
Do you like to wander the streets, camera in hand, ready to catch an amazing shot? Have you ever missed that shot thanks to the time taken to fumble your iPhone from your pocket and fire up the camera? Even if the answer to these questions is “No,” you should probably take a look at Shoulderpod’s S1 anyway – it’s not only a great camera grip, but also the best value you’ll get spending $30 on an iPhone accessory.
